In your own space, post the results of your fandom scavenger hunt. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Search in your current space, whether brick-and-mortar or digital. Post a picture or description of something that is or represents:
1. A favorite character
2. Something that makes you laugh
3. A bookshelf
4. A game or hobby you enjoy
5. Something you find comforting
6. A TV show or movie you hope more people will watch
7. A piece of clothing you love
8. A thing from an old fandom
9. A thing from a new fandom

All right, so the above image here fulfils three of the above requirements for the scavenger hunt. Chishiya is my favourite character from Alice in Borderland, which is a brand new fandom for me. I finished watching this series at the beginning of 2023. And I really want more people to watch this series, because I think it's honestly great. There are some really likable characters, some truly epic moments and it doesn't feel like there's romance shoehorned in, like most English and American TV shows are so fixated on. You can actually find a deeper dive into the fandom earlier in my journal.

This above comparison between Dean Winchester, from Supernatural, and Buffy Summers, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, really made me laugh when I first read it.
It's basically a comparison to their characters, written as if the two are having a conversation. For instance, they bond over sacrificing themselves for their younger sibling, that someone close to them lost their souls and started trying to kill people...not to mention trying to cause an apocalypse. Oh, and a guy in a big coat who switched sides after falling in love with the Chosen one, only to then go dark side and then die saving the world, only to come back again....
Yeah. I've watched both of those from the start, though lost interest after the apocalypse (how do you top that?!), so I guess they also count for old fandoms. In Buffy the Vampire Slayer's case, it's a really old fandom for me.

This is a place I would really love to live in! It looks very much like the Beast's library in Beauty and the Beast, with bookcases that reach to the ceiling and chairs and tables at the bottom. Of course, if it was my design, the chairs and tables would be comfy armchairs in front of fireplaces, plus some cats who like people. Other than that...this is an absolutely perfect book home for me.

This picture is a perfect symbol for my favourite hobby, which is going to conventions and getting to meet actors. As you can see above, I often get photos with them. This one with Tom Hiddleston, I partcularly love. There is plexiglass between us, but I don't think it's as noticeable as it could have been. And in the photo, I'm wearing my favourite clothing for photos with actors, so that hits another spot in the scavenger hunt.
The final piece of the scavenger hunt...something I find comforting.
When I was looking through my pictures on Facebook for the one above, I was struck by how much support I got from friends both online and in person when I broke my leg last year and ended up in hospital twice, first for an operation on my broken leg and second because I had DKA and sepsis. I had friends and family members concerned about me and sending me well wishes. I even had people who worked in the hospital telling me they'd been sending good vibes my way! Sadly, I missed my sister's wedding, but my family were very supportive and understanding and pretty much agreed with me that I needed to listen to the doctors. And even though I've still got the scars from the operation, as well as where my leg was drilled into in the ambulance, and even though I'm currently taking insulin due to a new dianosis of type 1 diabetes, I think I've recovered farirly well and am currently getting to grips with everything I now need to take care of.

Date: 2023-01-15 10:10 pm (UTC)It's weird you can't see the last two photos. I've tried reuploading, in case that helps?

Date: 2023-01-15 10:34 pm (UTC)It was fun to meet him. I'd only had a few hours sleep, though, so I wasn't very with it when I had my photo.
